With almost the same climate as Florida and Mexico Fuerteventura has 360 days of sunshine per year.
Caleta de Fuste's central location makes it a good base from which to explore the rest of the island.
Watersports
With a very long coastline you are never far from the sea and with nearly constant water temperatures all year round Fuerteventura is the perfect place for watersports.
The abundance of sea life makes diving and snorkelling a pleasure.
The strong surf around some parts of the island provide one of the best places in the world for surfing. Reliable winds plus a variety of water conditions means that whatever your ability in Surfing, Windsurfing and Kite boarding you will find what you need.
Lessons are available for all watersports at various centres around the island.
18 Hole Golf Course
There is an excellent golf course which opened in 2004 just 10 mins away, with swaying palm trees it’s a par 71 round extending 6 mild descent from the clubhouse hotel. A free bus service is available to and from the town centre, all within 5 mins away and is available every 30 mins.

Puerto del Rosario
Take a trip to Puerto del Rosario an attractive
whitewashed town
on the main street are good souvenir shops and there is a harbour promenade. The old harbour area features some attractive examples of Canarian architecture.
Visit the shipwreck on the west coast of the island in Puerto de Rosario or why not take a visit to the great zoo at La Lajita in the south of the island with its botanical gardens or visit the beautiful natural lagoons at the north west of Fuerteventura or have a fun filled day at Corralejo. Everyone is made very welcome and nite life starts at 2 am.
Betancuria
The original capital of the island visit the restored Santa Maria church and the Casa Museo Arquebiologico museum documenting the history of the island. There are also local artists to watch at work at the Casa Santa Maria.
La Lajita Zoo
One of the island's main attractions, the ‘Oasis de Los Camellos' zoo.
